The short version
A summary, not the agreement
- Your service contract is with the business. Bokful is the software you book through, and it takes no money.
- The price, duration and cancellation policy you see before you book are the ones that apply.
- Bokful adds no fee to what a business charges you and holds no card details. You pay the business directly, at the appointment.
- There are no reviews on Bokful, so nothing you write here is published.
- Nothing in here removes a statutory consumer right you have in your own country.
Definitions
- Bokful: the booking platform, and the company operating it.
- Business: the salon, barber, studio or venue that publishes a page on Bokful and performs the service.
- Client: you, the person making a booking.
- Booking: a specific service, at a specific time, with a specific business, made through Bokful.
Our role, and who you are contracting with
When a booking is made, a contract for that service forms between you and the business. Bokful is not a party to it and does not provide the service.
Bokful supplies the platform: the page, the diary, the confirmation and the notification. It does not take payment. You pay the business directly, at the appointment, by whatever means that business accepts.
The business sets its own prices, durations, staff, policies and opening hours. Bokful does not set them and does not verify them beyond what these terms require.
Bokful does not endorse any business and makes no promise about the quality of a service performed off the platform.
Where a business tells you something that contradicts its Bokful page, the page is what you booked.
Your account
You can book without an account. Where you do, the business still needs your name, email address and phone number so that it can recognise you and reach you about the appointment.
If you create an account, the details you give must be accurate and kept current, because a confirmation and every change to your booking go to them.
You must be at least 16, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and old enough for any age-restricted service you book.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
One person, one account. An account may not be sold, shared, or used to book on behalf of someone who has not agreed to these terms.
Making a booking
Availability shown is the business’s live diary, but two people can reach the same slot at the same moment. The slot is held when the booking is created, so a request that arrives second is refused rather than double-booked.
Each business chooses whether bookings are confirmed automatically or reviewed first. Where they are reviewed, your booking is a request until the business accepts it, and it is not guaranteed until then.
Each business sets how far ahead its diary is open: 30 days by default, and it can raise that up to the platform ceiling. Nothing can be booked in the past.
A business may need to move or decline a booking: illness, equipment, staff. Where it does you are told, you are offered an alternative where one exists, and you owe nothing for a booking that did not happen.
A booking left unresolved is cancelled automatically overnight rather than left hanging, and you are emailed when that happens.
Anything you tell a business to let it serve you safely, such as an allergy, a medical note or a preference, is passed to that business and to nobody else.
Prices and payment
Every price and duration is set by the business, shown in the local currency, and displayed before you book. Taxes are the business’s to state and to account for.
Payment is arranged between you and the business, at the appointment. Bokful is not a payment intermediary: it operates no payment provider, takes no deposits and no card payments, holds no funds and issues no refunds.
Bokful adds no fee to what a business charges you. Booking through Bokful costs a client nothing.
The whole price is settled with the business, by whatever means that business accepts.
Bokful stores no card number, expiry date or security code, because it takes no payments. There is no payment record of any kind in a Bokful account.
A refund is the business’s decision under its own policy and is arranged directly with the business, except where the law requires otherwise.
Changing, cancelling and not turning up
You can cancel or reschedule from your account while a booking is still to happen. After that, contact the business.
A business may publish a cancellation notice period, which is shown with the booking and recorded against it as it stood on the day you booked, so a later change to that policy does not reach back.
Bokful charges no cancellation fee and no no-show fee, and has no mechanism to collect one. Anything a business asks of you after a late cancellation is between you and that business.
A missed appointment is recorded against your record with that business, so a business can see its own history with you. It is not shared with any other business and is not a platform-wide mark.
Moving a booking carries the terms you agreed across to the new time, where the business allows moves.
If a business cancels, you owe it nothing, whatever its own policy says. No money passes through Bokful, so there is nothing for Bokful to refund.
A charge you believe is wrong is raised with the business first. Write to us and we will help you reach a person there.
Under EU consumer law you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect. The 14-day right of withdrawal does not generally apply to a service booked for a specific date, which is what an appointment is, so the business’s own cancellation window is the practical protection and it is shown before you book.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 apply alongside these terms and are not limited by them.
Qatar has consumer-protection legislation, and the route to it is being confirmed with local counsel before Bokful opens a city in Qatar. It will be named here when it is, rather than guessed at now. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under Qatari law.
Reviews, and anything you write
Bokful has no review, rating or public comment feature. Nothing you write is published, and no business has a score on this platform. If reviews are ever added, these terms are changed and published before anyone can leave one.
A note you add to a booking is sent to that business so it can serve you. It is not shown to other clients, is not used to advertise, and belongs to you.
Using the platform properly
- No fake bookings: holding slots you do not intend to keep, or booking to block a competitor’s diary.
- No interference: no attempt to break, overload or circumvent the platform’s security.
- No impersonation: of Bokful, of a business, or of another person.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
Bokful and its licensors own all intellectual property in the platform: the software and its source, the design system, the interface and its layouts, the copy, the brand, the names and the marks, the data structures and the documentation. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you, and using the service creates no right in it.
You are given a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use Bokful for one purpose: making and managing your own bookings. Anything outside that purpose is outside the licence.
You may not copy, reproduce, imitate, adapt, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer any part of the platform or its interface, and you may not create a derivative of it.
You may not scrape the platform or systematically extract its data, listings or content, by hand or by machine, and you may not access it with an automated tool, a crawler or a script without our written permission.
You may not use Bokful, including a trial account, a beta account or an account opened for the purpose, to build, train, benchmark or inform a competing product or service.
You may not circumvent, disable or probe any access control, rate limit or security measure, and you may not resell, sublicense, rent, lend or share your access with anyone else.
You may not remove, obscure or alter any notice of ownership, authorship, trade mark or licensing anywhere on the platform or in anything you are given access to through it.
Opening an account in order to study, copy or replicate the platform is a material breach of these terms, whatever else that account is used for.
Where this section is breached we may suspend or close the account immediately and without notice, and we reserve every remedy available at law, including injunctive relief and a claim for damages and for our costs.
This section survives the closing of your account, by you or by us, and it applies to anything you took from the platform while you had access to it.
What you write stays yours. A note you add to a booking is yours, and you grant Bokful only the permission it needs to run the service and pass that note to the business you booked.
If you send us feedback or an idea about the product, we may use it to improve Bokful without owing you anything for it and without it giving you any claim on what we build.
Availability of the platform
Bokful is provided as it stands and as it is available, and features may change. Where a fault stops a booking from completing, the remedy is that the booking is honoured or you are released from it.
Liability
Bokful is responsible for the platform doing what this document says it does: holding the slot, recording the booking and sending the confirmation.
Bokful is not responsible for the performance of a service by a business, for its premises or staff, or for anything agreed between you and a business outside the platform.
Neither side is liable for loss it could not reasonably have foreseen.
You pay Bokful nothing and no money passes through Bokful, so where Bokful is liable to you for a booking that liability is limited to the price of the booking concerned, except for the matters in the summary above, which are not limited.
Your statutory consumer rights sit alongside this section and are unaffected by it.
Suspension and closing an account
You may ask us to close your account at any time, by writing to the address at the foot of this document. There is no self-service closure button yet, and its absence changes nothing about the request. Bookings already made are honoured or cancelled with notice, never dropped silently.
Bokful may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where the law requires it. You are told which, and you can respond to a person.
Sections meant to survive, such as liability, intellectual property and governing law, continue to apply after closure.
Changes to these terms
There is no archive of past versions and no acceptance screen in the product yet, so neither is promised here. What is promised is this: each version carries its version number and date at the head of this page, a minor correction is published with a new date, and a change that materially affects what you are agreeing to is sent to you by email before it applies. You can decline it and ask us to close your account.
Complaints and disputes
Raise a complaint about a service with the business first, and about the platform with us at info@bokful.com. If we cannot settle it between us, you keep every right you have to go to a court or to a consumer body in your country.
Governed by the laws of Malaysia, with the Malaysian courts having jurisdiction. Nothing here removes your access to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims.
Governed by Polish law. You may bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence, and you keep access to the consumer dispute-resolution bodies available to you in Poland and the EU.
A booking made in Qatar is governed by Qatari law, with the Qatari courts having jurisdiction. Bokful has not opened a city in Qatar yet, so no booking has been made under this row.
The rest
If one part of this document is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Bokful may transfer these terms as part of a transfer of its business; your rights are unaffected. You may not transfer yours.
Notices to you go to the email address or phone number on your booking or account; notices to us go to info@bokful.com.
These terms, plus the Privacy Policy and any policy they reference, are the whole agreement between us on their subject.
Neither side is in breach for a failure caused by something genuinely outside its control.
